Million Depth 2.0 Update Brings a Major New Wave of Features and Improvements

Publisher Playism and developer Cyber Space Biotope have rolled out the 2.0 update for Million Depth, expanding the sidescrolling action/strategy roguelike with a major new challenge mode and meaningful improvements to its weapon crafting. If you’ve been looking for more reasons to jump back in (or you felt you’d already “solved” your most reliable builds), this update is designed to shake up your runs and push your decision-making further.

Million Depth first launched for Windows PC via Steam in November 2025, and update 2.0 focuses on making each playthrough feel less predictable while also giving experienced players a fresh, high-difficulty target to chase.

The biggest addition is Dimension Over Mode, a brutal new mode built for players who have already reached the game’s true ending. Instead of progressing through routes separately, Dimension Over Mode has you run through the α, β, and γ routes at the same time, creating a faster, riskier experience where your resources matter more than ever. Your HP and battery carry across timelines, meaning every mistake can echo forward and every smart decision can keep a run alive.

The mode also turns up the pressure with constant Spores and a true boss that doesn’t just hit harder, but comes equipped with new, more powerful attacks designed specifically to make this version of the fight feel distinct. For anyone who enjoyed Million Depth but felt the original balance was a little forgiving, this is meant to be the “prove it” mode.

Weapon crafting also gets a major boost thanks to the introduction of status up tiles. One issue the developers wanted to address was how players could end up relying on the same weapon patterns in every run. With status up tiles now entering the mix—and with tile placement randomized each time—you’re encouraged to adapt, redesign, and experiment on the fly. The result is a more puzzle-like crafting layer where placement and shape matter more, and where even familiar strategies can evolve into something new depending on what the run gives you.

Alongside the additional variety, the update also aims to smooth out the late-game feel. Some players noted that enemies in the second half could feel overly bulky, and the update makes it easier to increase your attack power relative to enemy toughness. In other words, you have more tools to keep your damage scaling feeling satisfying. And if you were already breezing through, Dimension Over Mode is positioned as the answer for players who want that extra difficulty spike.

Replayability is further strengthened with newly added speedrun support. Taking guidance from real speedrunners, the game now includes a run timer and record tracking so you can measure improvement across attempts. Quality-of-life tweaks were also made for faster runs, including the ability to skip elite enemy spawn animations and additional optimizations to other skipping functions.

Million Depth has always been built around the idea of replaying past the story, refining strategies, and seeing how different decisions shape the outcome. With the 2.0 update’s new high-difficulty mode, expanded weapon crafting, and speedrun-focused features, the game now has more ways to challenge both creative builders and execution-focused players chasing faster clears.
