Microsoft is giving Surface buyers a premium audio bonus for a limited time
If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to upgrade to a new Microsoft Surface device, this limited-time deal may be worth a closer look. Microsoft is currently offering a free pair of Sony WH-1000XM6 wireless headphones with select Surface Pro and Surface Laptop purchases, adding a high-value extra to some of its premium configurations.
The Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones are valued at $458 and are known for their wireless design, premium audio quality, and strong noise-canceling performance. For students, professionals, creators, and frequent travelers, the bonus could make a high-end Surface purchase more appealing.
The promotion is not available on every Surface model or entry-level configuration. Microsoft is limiting the offer to specific higher-end versions of three Surface devices:
Surface Pro 13-inch 12th Edition
Surface Laptop 13.8-inch 8th Edition
Surface Laptop 15-inch 8th Edition
Although the Surface Pro range starts at $1,499.99, buyers will only qualify for the free Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones when choosing configurations priced at $2,099.99 or higher.
For the Surface Laptop 13.8-inch 8th Edition, eligible configurations begin at $1,999. Meanwhile, the Surface Laptop 15-inch 8th Edition requires a configuration priced at $2,199 or above to qualify for the headphone bundle.
This means shoppers looking at the more affordable Surface options will not receive the free headphones. The deal is clearly aimed at customers purchasing more powerful Surface models with upgraded specifications.
There is also an important redemption process to keep in mind. The headphones will not be included in the box with your Surface device. After buying an eligible Surface model, Microsoft says it will send a redemption code to the email address used during checkout within seven days.
Once the code arrives, buyers must redeem it through Sony’s official redemption process. After that, Sony will ship the WH-1000XM6 headphones directly to the customer’s address.
The redemption code must be used by December 31, 2026, so eligible buyers will have plenty of time to claim the headphones. Still, it is a good idea to complete the process as soon as the code arrives to avoid forgetting later.
Microsoft’s Surface and Sony headphone promotion is scheduled to run until July 31. However, the offer may end earlier if the available supply of Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones runs out before that date.
For anyone already planning to purchase a premium Surface Pro or Surface Laptop configuration, this deal adds meaningful extra value. A free pair of high-end wireless noise-canceling headphones could be a useful companion for work, entertainment, video calls, travel, and everyday listening.
