Nintendo has exciting news for fans eagerly awaiting Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The company has confirmed that the game is still set for a 2025 release. This reaffirmation was made through a recent announcement inviting fans to attend Fan Expo Canada in Toronto from August 21 to 24, 2025.
Attendees at the Expo will not only have the chance to play Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, but also other anticipated Switch 2 titles such as Hades II, Borderlands 4, and Elden Ring Tarnished Edition. Plus, there’s a treat in store with demos of already released hits like Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and an exclusive edition of Street Fighter 6.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has certainly had a journey. Originally announced at E3 2017, the game’s development faced challenges, leading to a full reboot in 2019 under the guidance of Retro Studios after starting with Bandai Namco. Despite the hurdles, longtime series producer Kensuke Tanabe has remained at the helm, bringing fresh ideas like time-shifting mechanics to the mix.
In a recent step forward, the South Korean Classification Board rated the game for Nintendo Switch 2, marking it suitable for ages 12 and up due to mild violence. The game is set on the intriguing planet Viewros, with protagonists Samus and Sylux navigating unexpected challenges at a Galactic Federation Research Facility.
Fans can remember Tanabe’s 2015 vision where he expressed interest in a storyline focused on Sylux and Samus. Now, with the game’s release nearing, anticipation for a captivating trailer grows.
Metroid enthusiasts worldwide are eagerly awaiting this new chapter in Samus Aran’s adventures, promising another unforgettable journey in the Metroid universe.
