Meta’s CTO Predicts 2025 as a Pivotal Year for the Metaverse: A Make-or-Break Moment

His directive includes boosting sales, retention, and engagement, particularly in mixed reality, and he has stressed the importance of Horizon Worlds breaking out on mobile platforms to save the company’s long-term plans.

The stakes are high, especially following insights from a leaked meeting where Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, acknowledged a challenging year ahead. Zuckerberg is keen on maintaining leadership in smart glasses as the market rapidly evolves, seemingly prioritizing augmented reality wearables over complete virtual reality experiences.
