Massive Pixel Buds Pro 2 refresh is live, brimming with clever new features

Google is rolling out the long-awaited Feature Update 4.467 for Pixel Buds Pro 2, and it’s a big one. The new firmware focuses on smarter sound, safer listening, and smoother voice interactions, all designed to make daily use more intuitive and enjoyable.

Here’s what’s new in version 4.467:
– Adaptive Audio: Perfect for walks and commutes, Adaptive Audio automatically balances your volume and reduces distracting background noise while keeping you aware of what’s happening around you.
– Loud Noise Protection: If the environment suddenly gets loud, your earbuds can automatically turn the volume down to protect your ears. Note that this won’t protect against very quick, sharp sounds like gunshots, explosions, or fireworks. When you enable Adaptive Audio, Loud Noise Protection turns on automatically.
– Head gestures: Go hands-free with simple motions. Nod to answer a call or reply to a text, and shake your head to decline a call.
– Gemini Live improvements: Voice pickup is now clearer in noisy places. The earbuds prioritize your voice and reduce background noise so conversations and commands come through more reliably.

The update is rolling out gradually and should install automatically. To check manually:
1) Open the Pixel Buds app
2) Tap More Settings
3) Select Firmware update

If you don’t see it yet, try again in a day or two. For the smoothest update, keep your Pixel Buds Pro 2 in the case with a good charge and ensure they’re connected to your phone.

Feature Update 4.467 brings meaningful quality-of-life improvements to Pixel Buds Pro 2, making them smarter at adapting to your surroundings, more protective during noisy moments, and more responsive when you’re on the move.
