Manual Pass Archiving Now Available in Google Wallet

Users of Google Wallet will be pleased to know that the application has recently upgraded its features to include the ability to manually archive passes. Previously, Google Wallet would automatically archive passes once they had expired, but users did not have the option to do so manually for the passes they wished to remove from the home screen or for passes without an expiration date.

The introduction of this feature will be especially useful for managing non-expiring passes, or for those moments when you might prefer not to display a particular pass on the main screen, yet you do not want to permanently delete it. Moreover, it offers a solution if the app does not archive a pass as promptly as desired.

To utilize the manual archiving function, simply navigate to the details of the pass by tapping on the three-dot menu at the top-right corner of the selected pass within Google Wallet. Once selected, the archive option relocates the pass into the ‘Archived’ section, which is situated at the bottom of the app’s interface. Should you need to bring a pass back from the archives, there is an option available to unarchive it.

Details regarding the precise timeline of when Google integrated this feature into Wallet have not been disclosed. However, the functionality has been confirmed to be active in the latest stable release of the application in the United States. Users looking to benefit from manual archiving should ensure they have updated Google Wallet to the most recent version available.
