Mabox Linux Unveils Latest Update: Firefox 135 and New Kernel Highlighted

Mabox Linux, a Manjaro-based distribution from Poland, has introduced its latest update, version 25.02. This release brings some exciting enhancements, including the newly launched Firefox 135. Additionally, it updates the Linux kernel to version 6.6.65, an advance from the previous 6.6.47 version. Other notable updates include the Nvidia driver, Samba, and GTK.

While Mabox 25.02 mirrors parts of Manjaro’s stable release, it has its unique elements tailored to its users. Notably, some applications like Thunderbird, LibreOffice, and Steam are omitted from the Mabox lineup. Interestingly, Manjaro stable users are still on Firefox 134.0.2, making Mabox’s inclusion of Firefox 135 quite a catch for web browsing enthusiasts.

As for the core system updates, they package quite a punch: dhcp 4.4.3, e2fsprogs 1.47.2, gtk 4.16.12, Nvidia driver 550.144.03, perl 5.40.1, Python 3.13.1, samba 4.21.3, systemd 257.2, and xorg-server 21.1.15. All these improvements come together in a 2.7 GB ISO file that can be downloaded from SourceForge.

It’s important to note that Mabox Linux no longer supports 32-bit systems. However, if you’re a fan of old-school machines, distributions like Debian, Alpine, and antiX continue to cater to 32-bit hardware.

This latest version of Mabox not only enhances performance but also ensures that users have access to the latest technologies for their computing needs. Whether you’re a seasoned Linux enthusiast or new to the world of open-source operating systems, Mabox 25.02 offers a streamlined and efficient experience.
