LG is stepping up its home audio game with a new modular surround system that’s built around Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. Called the LG Sound Suite, this setup is designed for people who want a premium, cinema-style experience without being locked into a single fixed speaker layout.
At the center of the system is the LG H7 soundbar, which acts as the FlexConnect hub. It can be paired with LG’s M5 and M7 wireless speakers and the W7 subwoofer, letting buyers choose how many speakers they want and where to place them. LG says the system can be expanded into an impressive 13.1.7-channel surround configuration, positioning it as a serious option for immersive Dolby Atmos and multi-dimensional surround sound.
FlexConnect is also shaping up to be more than just a soundbar feature. LG says select LG Smart TVs from the 2026 model year will support Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, and some 2025 TVs are expected to gain support through a software update. With a compatible FlexConnect TV, the wireless speakers can even be used without the soundbar, giving users more flexibility in how they build their setup and arrange their room.
One standout element of the LG Sound Suite is its use of an ultra-wideband (UWB) chip to detect a listener’s position and adjust audio performance accordingly. In other words, the system aims to tailor the surround effect to where you’re actually sitting, which could make movie dialogue, directional effects, and Atmos height cues feel more natural and precise.
The system is powered by LG’s Alpha 11 AI Gen 3 processor, and LG notes that the H7 soundbar can upmix stereo audio into Dolby Atmos. That’s a meaningful feature for everyday viewing, since much of what people watch (including older content and many streaming videos) is still stereo or not fully mixed for Atmos.
LG hasn’t shared full specifications yet, and there’s no official word on pricing or release timing. More details, including availability, are expected to be announced at CES 2026 in January. For now, the LG Sound Suite is shaping up to be an adjustable, expandable, and TV-friendly Dolby Atmos solution aimed at consumers who want premium surround sound without the usual setup limitations.
