Two LG Gram Pro AI laptops are showcased, one labeled 'World’s Lightest 17-inch RTX Laptop' and the other 'Ultra Portable 16-inch Dual AI Laptop,' with the text 'Ultra Portable. Dual AI Power.'

LG Unveils 2026 Gram Lineup: The World’s Lightest 17-Inch Laptop with RTX Graphics

LG is getting ready to unveil its 2026 Gram laptop lineup at CES, and the company is positioning these new models around two big priorities: serious performance in a thin-and-light design, and next-generation AI features aimed at productivity. The new range expands LG’s ultra-portable catalog with two key additions—one built to bring discrete graphics to a larger screen for gaming and everyday power users, and another designed as a dual-AI productivity machine.

At the center of the 2026 Gram series is LG’s new AeroMinum metal chassis. LG says this material helps cut weight without sacrificing rigidity, tackling the classic laptop challenge of staying lightweight while still feeling durable. The company also claims the new body is engineered to resist scratches and meet military-grade durability standards, which should appeal to people who travel frequently or want a premium laptop that can handle daily wear over the long term.

The more performance-focused model is the LG Gram Pro 17Z90UR. LG is calling it the world’s lightest 17-inch RTX laptop, while also suggesting its overall footprint is closer to what you’d expect from many 16-inch laptops. It features a 2560 x 1600 display and includes an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU with 8GB of VRAM—an important upgrade for anyone who wants hardware-accelerated graphics for gaming, creative apps, and GPU-assisted workloads.

LG hasn’t shared final specifications yet for the processor, memory, storage, battery, or the official weight. Those details are expected closer to the CES showcase. Still, the core message is clear: this is a 17-inch laptop meant to stay portable while adding dedicated NVIDIA graphics, aiming to cover light-to-moderate gaming along with everyday productivity.

For users who prioritize portability and work features over gaming horsepower, LG is also introducing the Gram Pro 16Z90U, described as an ultra-portable Dual AI laptop. The standout concept here is the ability to use on-device AI and cloud-based AI at the same time, allowing AI-assisted tasks to be shared across local hardware and online services. LG is pairing that productivity focus with a 16-inch 3K OLED display for enhanced contrast, deep blacks, and punchier colors—useful for content creation, media consumption, and detailed office work.

This model will run on Intel Core Ultra processors, though LG hasn’t confirmed the exact chip configuration yet. Like the 17-inch model, more complete specs should arrive as CES gets underway.

With the 2026 Gram series, LG is signaling a bigger push into two fast-growing laptop categories: lightweight laptops that still include RTX graphics, and AI-powered productivity laptops that blend local computing with cloud acceleration. If LG delivers on the promise of a sturdier, lighter chassis while keeping performance competitive, the new Gram lineup could be a strong option for shoppers looking for premium portability without giving up modern features.
