UMT Revenue Jumps 71% as LEO Satellite Demand Accelerates Global Expansion Plans
UMT reported a strong 71% year-over-year revenue increase for the first three quarters of 2026, fueled by rising global demand for low Earth orbit satellite deployments and advanced millimeter-wave communication products.
The Taiwan-based company is benefiting from the rapid growth of the LEO satellite market, where operators are racing to expand high-speed connectivity, improve global coverage, and support next-generation communications infrastructure. As satellite networks become more important for broadband, defense, aviation, maritime, and remote-area connectivity, demand for high-performance millimeter-wave components continues to rise.
To keep pace with increasing international orders, UMT plans to move forward with manufacturing expansion beginning in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company said its expansion strategy will focus on Taiwan, the United States, and Vietnam, giving it greater production flexibility and a stronger global supply footprint.
The planned manufacturing growth is expected to help UMT improve delivery efficiency, support major overseas customers, and reduce supply chain pressure as demand for LEO satellite communication technology continues to build.
Millimeter-wave communications are a key part of modern satellite systems, enabling faster data transmission and supporting the high-capacity networks needed for today’s connected world. With LEO satellite constellations becoming a major area of investment across the global telecom and space industries, suppliers like UMT are positioned to play an increasingly important role in the market.
UMT’s latest revenue performance highlights the momentum behind satellite communications and the growing commercial opportunity for companies supplying critical radio frequency and millimeter-wave technologies. As deployment activity expands worldwide, UMT’s investment in additional manufacturing capacity could help it capture more growth in the years ahead.
