Lenovo has expanded the availability of its ThinkPad L14 Gen 7 Intel model to more international markets, giving business users and budget-focused ThinkPad fans a new 14-inch laptop option built around Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 3 processors.
The new ThinkPad L14 Gen 7 follows the AMD Ryzen AI 400 version that arrived earlier this year and replaces the previous Gen 6 model. While the overall design remains familiar, Lenovo has refreshed the hardware with newer Intel chips, updated wireless connectivity, and a practical port selection aimed at office users, students, and professionals who need a durable everyday laptop.
The ThinkPad L14 Gen 7 Intel can be configured with processors up to an Intel Core Ultra 7, depending on the region. Memory options also vary by market, with configurations offering up to 32GB of RAM. Storage starts with a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD in the currently listed entry configuration in the United States.
However, the new model arrives with a higher starting price than last year’s version. Lenovo previously suggested a starting price of $1,439, but the most affordable configuration currently listed in the US starts at $1,559 before discounts. That version includes an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. For comparison, the earlier ThinkPad L14 Gen 6 launched at $1,209.
Lenovo appears to be offsetting the higher price with promotional discounts in some regions. In the US, a 28% discount brings the starting price down to around $1,109, making the laptop significantly more competitive for buyers looking for a dependable business notebook.
Availability differs depending on the country. In North America, only one preconfigured model appears to be available at launch. European buyers in countries such as the UK, Ireland, Spain, and Sweden get more choices, including models with the Intel Core Ultra 7 355 and Core Ultra 7 356H. Some of these configurations include 16GB or 32GB of RAM.
Other regions receive different processor options. Australia and India, for example, are getting models equipped with Intel Core Ultra 5 332 and Core Ultra 5 335 chips with vPro support, making them suitable for managed business environments.
Despite the CPU upgrade, the display remains fairly basic. All current ThinkPad L14 Gen 7 Intel configurations feature a 14-inch IPS panel with a 1920 x 1200 resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and brightness of up to 400 nits. This should be enough for standard productivity work, web browsing, spreadsheets, video calls, and document editing, though users looking for a high-refresh or premium display may want to look elsewhere.
Battery capacity is another area where Lenovo has kept things simple. The listed configurations use a 46.5Wh battery rather than the larger 57Wh option. That could matter for users who spend long hours away from a charger, especially if they plan to use the laptop heavily throughout the day.
Some business-friendly extras are also missing from the current models. The ThinkPad L14 Gen 7 Intel does not include a fingerprint reader, NFC, a card reader, or 5G support in the listed configurations. The keyboard also lacks backlighting, which may disappoint users who frequently work in dim environments.
On the positive side, Lenovo has included modern connectivity features. The laptop supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, helping it stay ready for newer wireless networks and accessories. It also includes a 720p webcam with a privacy shutter, a useful addition for video meetings and remote work.
The port selection is one of the stronger points of the ThinkPad L14 Gen 7 Intel. Lenovo includes USB-C, HDMI 2.1, and multiple USB-A ports, giving users flexibility for monitors, peripherals, external drives, and office accessories without immediately needing a dongle.
