Lenovo Enhances Entry-Level ThinkPad Range with Optional 120Hz Display for Budget-Friendly Business Laptops

Lenovo is taking their entry-level ThinkPad laptops to a whole new level with the introduction of stunning screens and enhanced battery life. Historically, the E series ThinkPads were known for being budget-friendly but often faltered with less-than-ideal displays and limited battery capacity. However, with the launch of the ThinkPad E14 Gen 7 and the ThinkPad E16 Gen 3, Lenovo is addressing these shortcomings.

These new models are being equipped with improved display options. Although the basic version of the screen remains for those on a tighter budget, the upgraded displays are significantly better. The E14 Gen 7 boasts a 2.8K screen with a brightness of 400 cd/m² and a 120 Hz refresh rate, perfect for smoother visuals. Similarly, the E16 Gen 3 will feature a 2.5K display, offering the same enhanced specs. This marks a substantial leap from the previous offerings and makes these laptops ideal for professionals who can’t compromise on display quality.

In addition to the screen improvements, Lenovo has boosted the battery capacity of their E series models. The E14 Gen 7 and E16 Gen 3 now come with a 64 Wh battery, compared to the 57 Wh in earlier versions like the E14 Gen 6 and E16 Gen 2. This means users can expect longer-lasting performance throughout their workday.

Under the hood, these laptops are fueled by Intel’s latest Arrow Lake processors, with both H and U variants available, ensuring powerful, efficient performance. There are also options for the Raptor Lake Refresh series and advanced AMD CPUs, likely from the refreshed Ryzen 8040 series, providing a variety of choices depending on user needs.

While the tech specs have seen upgrades, Lenovo hasn’t strayed far from their classic ThinkPad design but have given it a modern twist. The refreshed chassis maintains the trusted port selection, while introducing a more current look and including iconic features such as the black ThinkPad logos and a newly designed webcam bar.

Set to hit the market in April, these new models promise affordability without skimping on advanced features. Both the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 7 and the E16 Gen 3 start at a competitive price point of €670, making them a smart choice for budget-conscious professionals who still demand quality and performance.
