Leica has reported exceptional sales performance for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2024. The impressive figures are largely attributed to the success of the Leica M11-P and Leica M11 Monochrom cameras. The company also predicts that the demand for the upcoming Leica Q3 will continue to be robust, while the Leica SL system has been garnering a positive reception from its user base. Despite these successes, Leica has not stated outright whether the SL system camera has been a sales success.
Moving forward, Leica has plans to expand its partnership with Xiaomi, hinting at future collaborative projects. Additionally, Leica made a specific mention of the Leitz Phone, signaling an intent to build upon and continue its development. The current Leitz Phone 2, built upon the technical foundation of the Sharp Aquos R7, is currently being marketed and sold by Leica. This statement seems to indicate the possibility of new models in the pipeline that may be available in markets outside Japan in coming months.
The camera manufacturer’s teasing of future products alongside its current success suggests an ambitious trajectory for Leica in the realm of high-end photography and smartphone collaboration.
