Sonos looks set to expand its home audio lineup with two new wireless speakers, and an early retailer listing may have revealed the key details ahead of the official announcement.
A Reddit user recently noticed a product page on Best Buy Canada for a “Sonos Play” wireless speaker. The listing reportedly disappeared shortly after being spotted, but not before screenshots were saved and shared online. Following that, known leaker Billbil-kun added further information, including pricing and the expected pre-order window—not only for the Sonos Play, but also for a second model said to be launching alongside it.
According to the leak, Sonos is preparing two new speakers: the Sonos Play and the Sonos Era 100 SL. Both are expected to come in black and white. The Era 100 SL is described as a variation of the current Sonos Era 100, but with one notable change: no built-in microphones. That would mean no voice assistant features, which could appeal to buyers who prefer a simpler setup, want more privacy, or just don’t need hands-free voice control.
Reported pricing varies by region. In the United States, the Sonos Play is expected to launch at $299, while the Sonos Era 100 SL is tipped to cost $189. In Europe, the Sonos Play is said to fall between €299 and €349 depending on the country, with the Era 100 SL expected at €199. In the United Kingdom, the leak points to £299 for the Sonos Play and £169 for the Era 100 SL.
As for availability, both speakers are rumored to release on March 31, 2026. Pre-orders are expected to begin on March 10, which suggests Sonos could make things official in the near future.
Until Sonos confirms everything, the specs, pricing, and dates should be treated as unofficial. Still, between the briefly visible retailer listing and the follow-up leak, it’s a strong sign that Sonos fans won’t have to wait long to see what the “Play” name and the Era 100 SL bring to the company’s next wave of wireless speakers.
