Samsung Galaxy S26+ first look: a flat redesign, bigger display, and flagship cameras
With the S26 Edge reportedly sitting out the next Galaxy Unpacked, all eyes are on the Galaxy S26+—the model widely expected to step into the spotlight when the lineup debuts early next year. Fresh CAD-based renders shared by OnLeaks and Android Headlines offer our most detailed preview yet, and they paint a picture of a refined, premium device that streamlines Samsung’s design language.
Design and dimensions
The S26+ adopts a clean, flat aesthetic with a centered hole-punch selfie camera, slim and uniform bezels, and gently rounded corners. Both the power button and volume rocker sit on the right side, keeping controls within easy reach. The display measures about 6.7 inches, while the chassis reportedly comes in at 158.4 x 75.7 x 7.35 mm—sleek and pocket-friendly, though not as razor-thin as the old Edge variants.
Triple-camera system
A vertical camera array in the top-left houses three protruding lenses:
– 50MP main camera
– 12MP ultra-wide
– 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom
There’s a 10MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls, and an LED flash nestled beside the camera island.
Performance and hardware
Expect Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 to power the S26+ in most markets, with whispers that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 could be reserved for the Ultra model. As usual, a Snapdragon version may still appear in select regions.
Memory and storage look flagship-ready, with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage in 256GB and 512GB options. There’s no microSD slot, aligning with recent premium Galaxy releases.
Display and durability
– 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED 2X
– Adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz
– 3120 x 1440 resolution
– Gorilla Glass Victus 2.0 for added protection
Battery and charging
– 4,900mAh battery
– 45W wired charging
– 15W wireless charging
– IP68 dust and water resistance
What to expect
If you were eyeing the Edge, the Galaxy S26+ looks poised to be the natural alternative—flat, modern, and packed with high-end specs. With a sharper display, capable triple-camera setup, and strong battery and charging support, it’s shaping up to be one of the most balanced Android phones to watch as the new Galaxy lineup approaches its early-year debut. Pricing and region-specific chip details will likely become clearer as we get closer to launch.
