PQube and developer CIRCLEfromDOT have dropped a playable demo for Kusan: City of Wolves, a fast-paced, hardcore top-down shooter built for players who thrive on speed, precision, and high-stakes combat. The demo is available now on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with a Nintendo Switch demo planned for release soon.
Kusan: City of Wolves isn’t interested in giving you breathing room. This is a top-down action game designed around “zero second chances,” where a single mistake can mean instant death. The combat emphasizes clean execution, sharp movement, and confident decision-making—because playing sloppy doesn’t just slow you down, it ends your run.
In the demo, you step into the role of Jin, a highly skilled ex-soldier turned gun-for-hire trying to survive in a city where the boundary between predator and prey has already collapsed. What starts as another job quickly spirals into something bigger: a mysterious girl with immense but unstable power is tied to a violent conspiracy that could reshape the city’s balance of power. That tension fuels the action as you fight through brutal streets and combat arenas controlled by furious kingpins.
The demo focuses on mastering Kusan’s core gameplay loop: tight gunplay, rapid movement, and relentless encounters that punish hesitation. You’ll be pushed to link attacks into efficient combos using gunfire alongside tools like the Quantum Knife and the War Hand, creating a flow that rewards skillful chaining and aggressive momentum. Exploration also matters. You can smash parts of the environment to uncover Bolts, then spend them to enhance your capabilities and stay lethal as the difficulty ramps up.
Adding even more intensity is the soundtrack from Korean hip-hop heavyweight Loptimist, delivering adrenaline-charged tracks packed with hard-hitting loops and deep 808s that keep the pressure on from one fight to the next.
The Kusan: City of Wolves demo includes:
Tight, brutal encounters where hesitation is punished
Combo-driven action that mixes gunplay with the Quantum Knife and War Hand
Destructible elements that can reveal Bolts, used to upgrade your edge
A preview of Kusan’s enemies, atmosphere, and the chaos lurking deeper in the city
Kusan: City of Wolves is currently set to launch in 2026 for Windows PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5.
