Kingsroad’s Epic Release Set for May 21: Developers Aim to Encompass All of Westeros

Netmarble has exciting news for Game of Thrones fans with the announcement of the full launch of “Game of Thrones: Kingsroad” on May 21. This free-to-play action/adventure RPG will be available on PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and Windows Launcher, as well as on mobile devices via Android and iOS, reaching a global audience—though Asia will have to wait a bit longer.

The game initially launched on Steam Early Access on March 26, receiving improvements and fixes based on valuable player feedback. Hyunil Jang, the Game Director, recently shared insights into the game’s future plans.

One important update addresses field boss matchmaking. Originally, bosses appeared frequently, which spread players too thin and made collaboration difficult. To enhance the experience, the number of daily appearances by Drogon will be reduced, encouraging more focused group gameplay. The team remains open to adjusting this further based on player feedback.

Language support was another significant request from early access and beta testers. The game will now include Portuguese and Turkish at launch, broadening its accessibility.

Players who joined early with Founder’s Packs received special in-game items, including costumes for all classes. As a thank-you, more rewards will roll out to early participants before the official launch. Rest assured, the game is designed with player satisfaction in mind, ensuring optional purchases enhance but aren’t necessary for enjoyment.

The RP system also came under scrutiny. Initially meant to manage player fatigue while rewarding limited play time, the system left many feeling short on RP. The team is working on balancing this by increasing the daily RP supply. Additionally, they’re developing new content, such as exploration challenges and co-op activities, to provide engaging experiences even when RP runs low.

Players have already explored regions like the North and the Reach, but soon, they’ll journey to the less-explored Stormlands. With its dark and oppressive atmosphere, this area adds depth to the game’s narrative, exploring themes like religious upheaval in a medieval society.

Netmarble is committed to delivering a polished and immersive experience. While there may be hurdles along the way, the team promises to maintain open communication and swiftly tackle any issues. Their ongoing dedication to improving “Game of Thrones: Kingsroad” aims to create an engaging world that reflects player feedback and creativity.

Join the adventure on May 21, and immerse yourself in the captivating realm of Westeros like never before.
