A new wireless HDMI transmitter kit called LOVX has just landed on Kickstarter, aiming to make long HDMI cables (and the mess that comes with them) far less necessary. The idea is simple: plug in the transmitter and receiver, power them up, and send your video signal across the room or across an office without relying on your home or office Wi‑Fi network.
LOVX says the system supports up to 4K output at 30Hz, while 1080p can run at 60Hz. For many everyday setups—presentations, streaming video, productivity work, and quick second-screen layouts—that combination hits a practical sweet spot. The company also claims latency stays under 0.1 seconds, which should feel fine for typical viewing and office use, though fast-paced competitive gaming may still feel less responsive than a direct wired connection.
Range is another big selling point. LOVX advertises transmission up to 50 meters (about 165 feet), using dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless frequencies to help maintain a stable connection in different environments. There’s also a physical button on the transmitter designed for quick disconnect and reconnect, which can be handy when you’re bouncing between meetings or swapping screens.
Compatibility is positioned as broad and flexible. The receiver includes both HDMI and VGA ports, which could be useful for older monitors and projectors that haven’t fully moved past VGA. The kit is presented as suitable for laptops, tablets, and gaming consoles, and backers can choose either a USB‑C or HDMI transmitter option depending on what they want to connect.
Designed with portability in mind, the transmitter and receiver come in a compact aluminum alloy shell and ship with the required USB power cables. Each kit needs 5V/2A power via USB‑C, and LOVX suggests you can pull power from a display’s USB port or use a basic power bank—useful for travel, pop-up workstations, classrooms, or temporary event setups where outlets are limited.
For larger installations, LOVX highlights a one-to-eight configuration. In practice, this is meant to support scenarios where multiple source devices need to share a display. Users can switch between sources with a button press, and the system supports both mirroring and extended desktop modes, making it appealing for hybrid work setups, small conference rooms, training environments, and multi-device demo stations.
On the Kickstarter page, LOVX lists several pledge tiers. Pricing starts at $59 for a limited deal on either a USB‑C or HDMI transmitter set. Other options include $69 “Super Early Bird” pricing and $79 “Early Bird” sets, with bundles scaling up to $479 for an eight-pack. Buyers can choose USB‑C or HDMI transmitter versions across the tiers, and there are discounted multi-unit bundles for people outfitting bigger spaces.
LOVX also states that backers will receive a 12-month standard warranty covering manufacturing defects from the date of delivery. The company expects to begin shipping globally by June 2026.
