It’s official: Oppo Find X9 Pro packs a magnetic camera kit with Hasselblad‑tuned optics

Oppo is gearing up to supercharge mobile photography on the Find X9 series with a new magnetic camera kit developed in partnership with Hasselblad. A concept image shared on Weibo sparked the conversation, and it has now been officially acknowledged by Zhou Yibao, the product manager for the Find lineup. While the final design won’t mirror the concept, he confirmed that a camera solution for the Oppo Find X9 Pro is in active development—marking the first time this kind of Hasselblad-made grip-and-lens system will be offered beyond the brand’s Ultra model.

The standout feature is the magnetic mounting mechanism. Unlike earlier clip-on or snap-on smartphone camera kits from other brands, this system is designed to attach faster and more securely, making it more practical for everyday shooting. The grip is expected to pair with Hasselblad optics, including a teleconverter lens, which should help deliver premium image quality without the typical compromises of third-party add-ons.

Functionally, the approach appears similar to what we’ve seen with external lenses that boost native telephoto capabilities. Think of a built-in telephoto—like an 85 mm equivalent—being optically extended to around 200 mm through an add-on lens. If executed well, that means sharper long-range shots, improved subject isolation, and more creative flexibility straight from your phone.

Early indications suggest the Oppo Find X9 Pro may simplify its camera hardware to focus on a single telephoto unit, but aim higher on quality with a 200 MP sensor and roughly 3x optical zoom. Pairing that with Hasselblad’s teleconverter could position the X9 Pro as a go-to choice for enthusiasts who want true reach and detail without carrying a dedicated camera. The Ultra variant, expected in 2026, is also slated to support this system.

Zhou Yibao also teased video-focused accessories for the base Oppo Find X9 model. It’s not yet clear whether those will include external lenses, but creators can likely expect tools aimed at stabilization, ergonomics, or audio—features that matter just as much as optical reach when shooting video on the go.

A few questions remain. Oppo hasn’t shared specifications for the magnetic grip, battery integration, shutter controls, or whether neutral density filters and other lens options will be available at launch. The company also hasn’t confirmed if these Hasselblad accessories will be released globally. With the Find X9 series launch reportedly just around the corner, we shouldn’t have to wait long for answers.

If Oppo and Hasselblad deliver on the promise here—fast magnetic mounting, optical-grade teleconverters, and a comfortable handgrip—mobile shooters could gain a powerful, modular system that bridges the gap between smartphone convenience and dedicated camera versatility. For anyone who loves travel photography, portraits, or concert shots from the back row, the Find X9 Pro’s upcoming camera kit could be one of the most exciting smartphone accessories of the year.
