iQOO Teases a Powerhouse Phone With a Massive 9,000mAh Battery and Flagship Snapdragon Chipset

iQOO Neo 12 confirmed with massive 9,000mAh battery, 185Hz 2K OLED display, and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

iQOO is preparing to raise the bar for performance-focused smartphones with the upcoming iQOO Neo 12. After the iQOO Neo 11 made its debut in China in October 2025, the brand has now officially confirmed key details about its next-generation Neo series device, and the upgrades look significant.

One of the biggest highlights of the iQOO Neo 12 is its enormous 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. This is a major jump from the 7,500mAh battery used in the iQOO Neo 11, making the new model especially appealing for gamers, heavy users, and anyone who wants longer screen time without constantly reaching for a charger.

The display is another major area where iQOO is pushing forward. The iQOO Neo 12 is confirmed to feature a 2K-resolution screen with an ultra-fast 185Hz refresh rate. That makes it a notable upgrade over the Neo 11, which came with a 144Hz display. The higher refresh rate should deliver smoother animations, more responsive gaming, and a more fluid overall user experience.

iQOO is also using pTSF OLED display technology for the Neo 12. According to details shared by the company’s Neo series product manager on Weibo, iQOO worked with Visionox and Tsinghua University on advanced light-emitting materials. These new materials are designed to improve screen clarity while also lowering power consumption, which could help the phone balance its high-end display performance with better battery efficiency.

Under the hood, the iQOO Neo 12 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, positioning it as a flagship-grade performance phone. This chipset will be paired with iQOO’s self-developed Q3 gaming chip, suggesting that the device is being designed with serious mobile gaming in mind. Users can expect strong graphics performance, faster response times, and enhanced gaming optimization.

Another interesting addition is a built-in cooling fan. This is a major change from the iQOO Neo 11, which did not include an internal fan. Active cooling could help the Neo 12 maintain peak performance during long gaming sessions or other demanding tasks, reducing heat buildup and preventing performance drops.

Compared with its predecessor, the iQOO Neo 12 appears to bring upgrades across several key areas: a larger battery, a faster display, a newer flagship Snapdragon chipset, a dedicated gaming chip, and an active cooling system. These improvements suggest that iQOO is aiming to make the Neo 12 one of the most powerful gaming-focused smartphones in its class.

The company has confirmed that the iQOO Neo 12 will launch in China in October 2026, although the exact release date has not yet been announced. More details, including charging speed, camera specifications, memory options, and pricing, are expected to be revealed closer to launch.
