iQOO 16 Launch Date Revealed Alongside Official Color Options

iQOO 16 launch date confirmed with new design, 2K 165Hz display, and three color options

iQOO has officially confirmed that the iQOO 16 will launch in China on September 29, 2026. The upcoming flagship will arrive with a refreshed rear design, three stylish color choices, and major display upgrades aimed at gamers and premium smartphone buyers.

The iQOO 16 will be available in Chasing Light, Legend, and Track colorways. The most eye-catching option appears to be Chasing Light, which uses laser holographic imaging to create shifting red and blue light effects depending on how the phone is viewed. Legend comes in a lighter finish, while Track offers a dark grey matte texture for users who prefer a more understated look.

One of the biggest visual changes is the new rear camera layout. iQOO is calling the design “Tomorrow’s Porthole,” giving the phone a futuristic camera island with a squircle shape and a distinctive hexagonal pattern. The setup is expected to include a large-sensor triple-camera system, and official teaser images confirm support for 100x digital zoom, strongly suggesting that a dedicated telephoto lens will be part of the camera package.

Pre-reservations for the iQOO 16 have already opened in China ahead of the official launch. Interested buyers can purchase a special “lucky bag” for 9.90 yuan, which is roughly $1.50. This early reservation offer may unlock rewards worth up to 3,403 yuan, or around $507, giving early adopters an extra incentive before sales begin after the launch event.

The display is shaping up to be one of the iQOO 16’s standout features. iQOO claims the phone will be the first smartphone in the industry to combine a 2K resolution screen with a 165Hz refresh rate. The device uses a new Samsung M16 OLED panel that can reach 2,800 nits of global peak brightness and up to 10,000 nits of local peak brightness.

For gamers, the screen also includes iQOO’s Q-Flex technology. This allows up to 500Hz multi-finger touch sampling and an extremely high 5,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate. Combined with a sharp 508 PPI pixel density, DC dimming, wide DCI-P3 color coverage, and improved power efficiency, the iQOO 16 looks ready to target users who want a fast, vivid, and responsive display.

Performance is expected to be another major highlight. The iQOO 16 is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, paired with iQOO’s dedicated Q4 gaming chip. This combination should help the phone deliver stronger sustained performance, especially during demanding mobile games and heavy multitasking.

With its September 29 launch date now confirmed, the iQOO 16 is positioned as one of the most exciting upcoming Android flagship phones in China. Between the redesigned camera module, 100x zoom support, 2K 165Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 performance, and gamer-focused touch response upgrades, iQOO is clearly aiming to make the iQOO 16 a serious contender in the premium smartphone market.
