Turtle Beach has kicked off preorders for its latest Airlite Fit Wired Gaming Headset, crafted specifically for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This headset, part of their budget-friendly lineup, is launching at an attractive price of $27.99, positioning itself as a strong option for gamers looking to save without sacrificing quality.
Originally developed by PDP, this headset became part of Turtle Beach’s offerings following their acquisition of PDP in 2024. Earlier this year, Turtle Beach reintroduced the Airlite for the original Nintendo Switch, available in multiple eye-catching colors, including a striking neon red and blue. Now, the Switch 2 model brings a sophisticated Charcoal Black finish, coupled with official Nintendo Switch 2 branding, providing a sleek alternative to the previous vibrant designs.
In terms of features, the new Airlite Fit remains consistent with its predecessor. Weighing just 228 grams, it promises comfort with breathable jersey-knit ear cushions and a padded headband, making long gaming sessions more enjoyable. Its compatibility extends to all previous Nintendo Switch models, such as the Switch Lite and Switch OLED. Thanks to its standard 3.5 mm connection, it’s also usable with a variety of other devices.
The sound quality is delivered via 40mm speakers that Turtle Beach promises will provide an immersive audio experience, with crystal-clear highs and resonant lows. Although it doesn’t offer active noise cancellation, the Airlite Fit is designed to minimize outside noise through its specially crafted cushions. Additionally, it features a sound-isolating microphone with a convenient flip-to-mute function.
You can preorder the Airlite Fit Wired Gaming Headset for Nintendo Switch 2 through Amazon or directly from the Turtle Beach store, with shipping slated to start on September 3, 2025. For those partial to the original Switch design, the earlier Airlite Fit version remains available at the same budget-friendly price.
