Introducing the Infinix Smart 9 HD: A Budget Smartphone with 90 Hz Display and Long-lasting 5,000 mAh Battery

Infinix has launched its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the Smart 9 HD, in India, following its recent global release. This new model serves as the successor to the Smart 8 HD, which debuted back in December 2023. Though its design closely resembles its predecessor, the Smart 9 HD introduces several notable improvements, particularly in terms of display and processing power.

The smartphone now boasts a 6.67-inch LCD display, an upgrade from the previous 6.6-inch screen, delivering a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels with a smooth 90 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 500 nits. On the camera front, however, there are no significant changes. It maintains the 13 MP primary camera with a secondary AI sensor, while the front sports an 8 MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Under the hood, the Infinix Smart 9 HD is powered by a MediaTek Helio G50 processor, coupled with 3 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB of expandable eMMC 5.1 storage, which can be increased up to 1 TB with a microSD card. It runs on Android 14 Go Edition, linked with XOS 14. There has been no confirmation regarding future software updates, suggesting they may not be forthcoming.

The smartphone is equipped with a robust 5,000 mAh battery, although it supports only 10 W wired charging. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, stereo speakers enhanced with DTS technology, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, and support for up to 3 GB of virtual RAM expansion.

Infinix has priced the Smart 9 HD at INR 6,999 (approximately $77) and it will hit the shelves starting February 4, exclusively on Flipkart. The phone will be available in four eye-catching color options: Coral Gold, Mint Green, Neo Titanium, and Metallic Black. This affordable smartphone aims to attract consumers seeking value without compromising on essential features.
