Moondrop has introduced a new chapter in high-fidelity audio with the launch of their Discdream 2 Ultra and its sibling, the Discdream 2. The Discdream 2 Ultra sets itself apart by incorporating a 4.4 mm balanced headphone output, powered by dual DACs, which is a significant upgrade from its predecessor and the simpler Discdream 2 model that features only a single DAC. This balanced connection delivers an impressive output of 222 mW at 32 Ω, with a maximum voltage of 2 Vrms, ensuring an immersive and dynamic listening experience. When using balanced headphones, expect a dynamic range of 93 dB and incredibly low total harmonic distortion (THD) of 0.00177% at 1kHz.

The output for the 3.5 mm connection clocks in at 112 mW for the Ultra and 123 mW for the standard Discdream 2, both at 32 Ω with a maximum voltage of 2 Vrms.
