Instagram now lets you add tagged posts to your profile grid
Instagram is introducing a new feature that gives users more control over how their profiles look. Starting now, users can add posts they are tagged in directly to their main profile grid, making it easier to showcase photos, videos, and shared moments without reposting the same content.
The update may be small, but it solves a familiar problem. After a party, concert, vacation, dinner, or group outing, someone often uploads the best photo first and tags everyone in it. Until now, your options were limited: leave it in your Tagged tab or post the same image again on your own profile, which can feel repetitive.
With this new Instagram feature, you can simply add that tagged post to your profile grid. It appears alongside your own posts, helping you highlight memories, collaborations, and moments you want visitors to see first.
Instagram is making the process simple. You can add a tagged post to your grid from the direct message notification you receive when someone tags you, from the post itself, or from your Tagged tab. If you decide later that you no longer want it displayed on your main profile, you can remove it at any time.
Importantly, adding a tagged post to your grid does not change the original post. The post remains on the original creator’s profile, and it is not duplicated or deleted. Removing it from your grid also does not remove it from your Tagged tab, giving users flexibility without affecting the original content.
The feature could be especially useful for creators, influencers, and brands. Instead of reposting the same content or relying only on Instagram’s collaboration tools, creators can now feature tagged content directly on their profile. This makes it easier to highlight group campaigns, event coverage, product shoots, travel content, and other shared posts.
For brand partnerships involving multiple creators, the update offers another way to increase visibility. If several people are tagged in a campaign post, each of them can choose to display it on their own profile grid, helping the content reach more audiences while keeping the original post intact.
This rollout is also part of Instagram’s ongoing effort to give users more control over their profiles. Earlier, Instagram introduced a feature that allows users to reorder their profile grid, making it possible to adjust how posts appear without deleting or reposting them.
The platform has also been adding tools designed to make content creation and editing easier. One of those tools is First Draft, which helps users create an initial video edit by trimming clips, removing pauses, and pulling together key moments. Instagram also recently added a Replace Audio feature, allowing users to change the music on an existing post.
By letting users add tagged posts to their profile grid, Instagram is making profiles more flexible and personal. Whether you want to show off a great group photo, feature a creator collaboration, or highlight a campaign you were part of, the new option gives you a cleaner way to make tagged content part of your main Instagram profile.
