Huffy has introduced the Quantis electric bike, a new youth-friendly e-bike aimed at riders aged 12 and older. Designed with stability, easy handling, and everyday fun in mind, the Huffy Quantis enters the market as an accessible electric bike for younger riders who want extra power without stepping into high-performance e-bike territory.
The Quantis is built around a 24-inch aluminum hardtail frame, giving it a lighter and more manageable feel than larger adult-sized electric bikes. It also comes fitted with 24 x 3-inch knobby tires, which should help improve grip and confidence on pavement, neighborhood paths, and light trails. The wider tires are a smart addition for a youth-oriented e-bike, as they provide a more planted ride and better control across varied surfaces.
For braking, Huffy has equipped the Quantis with mechanical disc brakes. This is a welcome feature for a bike in this category, especially since dependable stopping power is important for younger riders and anyone new to electric bikes. Mechanical disc brakes are also relatively simple to maintain, making them a practical choice for families.
Power comes from a 250W rear hub motor paired with a removable 280Wh battery rated at 36V and 7.8Ah. The setup is modest compared with more powerful electric bikes, but that appears to be intentional. The Quantis is designed to deliver controlled electric assistance rather than aggressive acceleration. Huffy says the bike can provide throttle power up to 15 mph, or about 24 km/h.
That top assisted speed is lower than the common 20 mph limit seen on many Class 2 electric bikes, which may appeal to parents looking for a more restrained option for younger riders. However, Huffy has not yet shared some key performance details, including motor torque, peak power output, or estimated riding range on a full charge.
The Huffy Quantis also features a Shimano six-speed drivetrain, giving riders the ability to shift gears and manage different riding conditions more comfortably. In addition to traditional pedaling, the bike includes three levels of pedal assist, allowing riders to choose how much electric support they want. A thumb throttle is also included for on-demand power, which can be helpful when starting from a stop or climbing gentle inclines.
An LCD display is mounted on the bike to show useful ride information, including speed, battery level, assist mode, and power level. While the display covers the basics, the Quantis does not include companion app support, even though its price puts it above the entry-level range for many youth electric bikes.
The new Huffy Quantis electric bike is available in a single cobalt color option and is priced at $899. It is currently being sold directly through Huffy.
