Huawei MatePad Pro Max launches in Germany as an ultra-thin 13-inch OLED tablet
Huawei has officially started selling the MatePad Pro Max in Germany, bringing one of its slimmest and most premium tablets to European buyers. The device stands out for its strikingly thin design, large OLED screen, high refresh rate, and productivity-focused accessories, positioning it as a serious option for users who want a tablet for work, creativity, and entertainment.
The Huawei MatePad Pro Max is priced from €1,099 in Germany for the Space Gray version. A blue model is also available for €1,299 and comes bundled with the Glide Keyboard. The tablet was first introduced globally on May 7, 2026, and Huawei is promoting it as the world’s thinnest and lightest tablet in its category.
At its thinnest point, the MatePad Pro Max measures just 4.7 mm, making it exceptionally slim for a 13-inch-class device. The standard model weighs 499 grams, while the PaperMatte Edition is slightly heavier at 509 grams. Despite its slim profile, Huawei says durability has been improved, with bending resistance increased by 60% compared with the previous generation. The device has also received TÜV Rheinland Ultra-thin Bending Resistance Certification.
The display is one of the biggest highlights. The MatePad Pro Max features a 13.2-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte screen with a 3000 × 2000 resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and up to 1600 nits of peak brightness. Huawei has also used nano-level etching technology to reduce glare, making the tablet more comfortable to use in bright environments. With 3.55 mm bezels and a 94% screen-to-body ratio, the tablet aims to deliver an immersive viewing experience for movies, drawing, reading, and multitasking.
Connectivity is also up to date, with support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NearLink, and USB-C 3.1. Power comes from a 10,400 mAh battery, supported by 66 W fast charging. The tablet can also provide 40 W wired reverse charging, allowing it to charge compatible devices when needed.
For users looking to turn the tablet into a lightweight workstation, Huawei offers the Glide Keyboard. It features six rows of keys, 1.8 mm key travel, and a built-in slot for the M-Pencil Pro. The stylus can be stored and charged directly in the keyboard, making the setup more convenient for note-taking, sketching, and professional creative work.
On the software side, the Huawei MatePad Pro Max runs HarmonyOS 4.3. It supports Live Multitask, which allows users to work with up to three apps at the same time. This makes the tablet more practical for tasks such as writing while referencing documents, managing emails while browsing, or editing presentations alongside research material.
Huawei is also emphasizing productivity with PC-level WPS Office support, including AI-powered tools for document editing, spreadsheets, and presentations. Combined with the large OLED display and keyboard accessory, the MatePad Pro Max is clearly designed to appeal to students, professionals, digital artists, and anyone who wants a thin tablet that can handle more than basic media consumption.
To mark the German launch, Huawei is offering early-buyer incentives through its online store and Berlin flagship store until July 31. Customers can receive a 12-month warranty extension, FreeBuds Pro 4, the M-Pencil Pro, and a €100 discount code as part of the launch promotion.
With its 4.7 mm ultra-thin build, 13.2-inch 3K OLED display, 144 Hz refresh rate, Wi-Fi 7 support, large battery, and productivity-focused accessories, the Huawei MatePad Pro Max enters the German market as a premium tablet aimed at users who want portability without giving up screen size or performance features.
