Honor has introduced the Watch X5i, a budget-friendly smartwatch that focuses on the essentials while still offering a modern look and practical everyday features. Designed for users who want a lightweight wearable for notifications, calls, and basic fitness tracking, the Watch X5i stands out as an affordable option—at least in its initial market.
One of the most convenient additions is the built-in speaker and microphone setup. This allows you to take Bluetooth calls directly from your wrist, as long as the watch is connected to your smartphone. It’s a useful feature for quick calls when your phone isn’t easily reachable, such as while commuting or working out.
In terms of size and comfort, the Watch X5i uses a plastic case that measures 46.7 x 40.5 x 10.9 mm. It weighs 28.1 grams without the strap and 41.4 grams with the strap attached, making it light enough for all-day wear without feeling bulky.
For durability, Honor includes IP68 certification, which means the smartwatch should hold up well in everyday conditions like rain, splashes, and showering. However, it’s only rated at 1 ATM for water resistance, so it isn’t designed for swimming or water sports—an important detail for anyone who plans to track workouts in the pool.
Compatibility is another strong point. The Honor Watch X5i works with both Android phones and Apple iPhones, making it a flexible pick if you switch between platforms or share devices within a household.
Prices and availability are currently limited to China, where the Honor Watch X5i is listed at 229 yuan (around $33). Honor hasn’t yet provided official confirmation on a global release or availability in other regions, so international buyers will need to wait for further launch details.
