Honor Unveils New Smartphone Packing a Massive 8,300mAh Battery

Honor Play 11 Launches With Huge 8,300mAh Battery, 120Hz Display, and Budget 5G Pricing

Honor has expanded its Play series in China with the launch of the Honor Play 11, a more affordable alternative to the Honor Play 11 Pro that arrived earlier in August 2026. While the Pro model came with an OLED display and a 7,000mAh battery, the standard Honor Play 11 focuses on long battery life, durable design, and 5G connectivity at a lower price.

The biggest highlight of the Honor Play 11 is its massive 8,300mAh battery. This is significantly larger than what most budget and mid-range smartphones offer, making the device especially appealing for users who want extended screen time, long standby life, and fewer charging breaks. Honor has paired the large battery with 45W wired fast charging, giving users a practical balance between endurance and charging speed.

On the front, the Honor Play 11 features a large 6.87-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1,592 × 720 pixels. While the resolution is modest, the panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling, animations, and general navigation feel smoother than standard 60Hz screens. The large display also makes the phone suitable for video streaming, browsing, and casual gaming.

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. The phone is available with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, giving buyers multiple options depending on their performance and storage needs. For everyday use, social media, messaging, video playback, and light gaming, the Honor Play 11 is positioned as a capable budget 5G smartphone.

In the camera department, the Honor Play 11 keeps things simple. It comes with a 50MP rear camera for main photography and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. While it is not designed as a camera-focused flagship, the 50MP sensor should be suitable for casual photography in good lighting conditions.

Durability is another major selling point. The Honor Play 11 comes with IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. These ratings suggest the phone is built to handle tough environments better than many other affordable smartphones. Despite the massive battery, the device measures 8.3mm thick and weighs 216.5g, which is fairly reasonable for a handset with such a large cell inside.

Connectivity features include 5G support, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and NFC. The phone runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16 out of the box, giving users Honor’s latest software experience with modern Android features.

Honor is offering the Play 11 in four color options: Desert Gold, Phantom Black, Meteor Silver, and Misty Purple. The entry-level model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at CNY 1,499, which is around $223. The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version costs CNY 1,699, or about $253, while the top model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is priced at CNY 1,999, roughly $298.

The Honor Play 11 appears to share similarities with the global Honor X7e Plus 5G, although the Chinese model packs a slightly larger 8,300mAh battery compared to the 8,100mAh unit found in the X7e Plus 5G.

With its enormous battery, 120Hz display, rugged water and dust resistance, and affordable 5G pricing, the Honor Play 11 is aimed at users who prioritize battery life and durability over premium display technology or high-end camera hardware. For buyers looking for a long-lasting budget smartphone, Honor’s latest Play series model could be one of the more interesting options in its price range.
