Honor’s next big tablet is shaping up to be a performance showcase. The Honor MagicPad 3 Pro is expected to debut in China as the first flagship slate powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and early benchmarks suggest it could set a new pace for Android tablets.
A unit spotted on Weibo posted an AnTuTu score of 4,302,345. That figure tops what’s been seen from the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, which uses the same chipset and has been recorded around 3,507,568 points. It also follows another strong showing from Honor’s camp: the Magic 8 Pro phone previously surfaced with a 4,166,339 AnTuTu result. While benchmark numbers fluctuate and pre-release results aren’t final, they point to Honor extracting notably high performance from Qualcomm’s latest silicon.
Why the gap when the chip is the same? Tablets often enjoy better thermals and larger heat dissipation areas than phones, which can enable higher sustained clocks. Vendor tuning also plays a big role. It appears Xiaomi’s current configuration may be more conservative, potentially prioritizing efficiency or temperature over peak scores. Software updates could narrow the difference, but for now, Honor’s implementation looks especially aggressive.
Beyond raw speed, the MagicPad 3 Pro is rumored to feature a 13.3-inch display with a slick 165 Hz refresh rate, ideal for smooth scrolling, fast-paced gaming, and responsive stylus work. A large 12,450 mAh battery is said to be onboard, which should pair well with the power-hungry display and flagship chipset. Honor is also expected to lean into productivity with PC-grade apps and accessories, including multi-device keyboard support, to position the tablet as a capable work-and-play machine.
More official details are likely to arrive ahead of the China launch event set for October 15, 2025. Key things to watch for include real-world sustained performance, thermals under gaming loads, battery life, stylus and keyboard capabilities, and pricing. If early numbers hold, the Honor MagicPad 3 Pro could be one of 2025’s fastest Android tablets and a standout showcase for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
