Inti Creates has officially announced Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 3, the next installment in its fast-paced 2D action series. The game is currently in development for Windows PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch 2, with a planned release window set for 2027.
The new sequel brings back Copen, the sharp and agile protagonist known for high-speed combat, stylish movement, and explosive abilities. This time, Copen returns to his home world, only to face a dangerous new threat unlike anything he has encountered before.
The story begins when a mysterious girl appears before him with a warning about invaders from another world. These new enemies, known as “iX Bearers,” appear to be central to the game’s conflict, setting the stage for another intense sci-fi action adventure.
Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 3 will continue the series’ signature side-scrolling 2D action gameplay, combining precise movement, aerial combat, and flashy attacks. Fans of the previous entries can expect the same energetic pace, but with new mechanics designed to make battles even more exciting.
One of the biggest additions in Luminous Avenger iX 3 is Copen’s new weapon, the “Divide Edge.” This twin energy sword system gives players a fresh way to fight, adding close-range power to Copen’s already dynamic combat style.
