Gulikit Teases a Portable Aluminum Dock for Nintendo Switch 2, Switch OLED, and Original Switch
Gulikit is preparing to launch a new portable dock for Nintendo Switch consoles, and it could become an appealing travel-friendly alternative to Nintendo’s standard dock. The accessory has been teased ahead of its official release and is designed to work with the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch OLED, and the original Nintendo Switch.
The Nintendo Switch 2 includes a dock in the box, but many players still look for smaller, lighter, and more portable options for gaming on a TV while traveling. Gulikit’s upcoming dock appears to target exactly that audience, offering a compact design with a more premium build than the company’s older portable dock model.
Based on the teaser, the new Gulikit dock features an aluminum casing with a plastic underside. This should give it a sturdier and more refined feel compared to earlier designs that used a mostly plastic body. The bottom of the dock also includes slip-resistant feet, which should help keep it stable on a desk, table, or entertainment center.
Cooling also seems to be a major focus. The dock includes ventilation openings on the base, along with air intake vents positioned around the USB-C connector area. This could help with airflow when the console is connected, especially during longer gaming sessions in TV mode.
One of the more interesting design choices is the removable cover block for the USB-C connector. This piece appears to attach magnetically to the top of the dock and doubles as rear support for the console. That should help keep the Nintendo Switch, Switch OLED, or Switch 2 properly positioned while docked.
The dock keeps things simple when it comes to ports. On the back, it includes an HDMI output, one USB-A port, and a USB-C port for power input. There is also a dedicated button labeled “dock mode,” which appears to let users switch between display modes or toggle TV output functionality.
While the port selection is similar to Gulikit’s previous dock, the newer model looks like a meaningful upgrade thanks to its aluminum body and improved ventilation. It is also possible that Gulikit has improved power delivery support through USB-C or upgraded the USB-A port for faster performance, though the company has not confirmed those details yet.
The main appeal of this new dock is portability. Nintendo’s official dock works well for home setups, but it is not always convenient to carry around. A smaller dock with HDMI output, USB-C power, and broad Switch compatibility could be useful for players who frequently travel, visit friends, or want a second dock for another room.
Gulikit has not yet announced the official product name, release date, or price. However, the teaser suggests the accessory is already far enough along to be shown publicly, so more details may arrive soon.
