Coffee Stain Publishing and developer Coffee Stain North are bringing Goat Simulator 3 to Nintendo Switch 2 this spring, giving players a fresh way to unleash the series’ signature brand of ridiculous mayhem on a new platform.
The release date is set for April 1, which feels perfectly on-brand for a game that proudly leans into chaos, comedy, and meme-worthy moments. If you’ve ever wanted an open-world sandbox where the main objective is simply to cause as much trouble as possible as a goat, this is your kind of launch day.
Goat Simulator 3 is the “baa-rilliant” follow-up to 2014’s Goat Simulator, putting you back in control of Pilgor the Goat. This time, you’re dropped into the island of San Angora, an open world packed with things to do and plenty of ways to go off the rails. You can lick objects, headbutt people and props, smash through the environment, stumble into quests, discover secrets, and generally terrorize NPCs—because that’s what being a goat is all about here. The game offers a tutorial, but after that it’s all freedom: play however you want and create your own chaos.
One of the biggest highlights for the Nintendo Switch 2 version is co-op play. You can team up with a friend in local or online co-op, explore the island together, create even bigger disasters, and jump into mini-games when you feel like competing instead of cooperating. And since no two chaos gremlins dress the same, there are loads of customization options so your goats won’t end up wearing matching outfits by accident.
Originally launched in November 2022, Goat Simulator 3 has received a variety of seasonal content since release, and that content will be included in the Nintendo Switch 2 edition. That means new Switch 2 players will be getting a packed experience right from the start.
As always, the feature list is exactly what you’d expect from Goat Simulator 3: you can be a goat (now on Nintendo Switch 2), bring a friend along as a second goat, customize your look with different goat styles, and equip a collection of absurd gear. Expect plenty of events, collectibles, mini-games, easter eggs, and secrets scattered around San Angora—more than enough to keep chaos-lovers busy for a long time.
Goat Simulator 3 launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on April 1, arriving just in time for players to embrace the most fitting date possible for a game that thrives on nonsense.
