GMK Unveils Budget-Friendly Mini PC That Fits in Your Palm

GMKtec G5S Mini PC Launches With Palm-Sized Design and Budget-Friendly Price

GMKtec has introduced the G5S, a new compact mini PC designed for users who want a space-saving desktop computer without spending too much. Launched in China, the GMKtec G5S stands out with its extremely small chassis, measuring just 72 x 72 x 44.5 mm. That makes it small enough to fit comfortably on a desk, behind a monitor, or in a compact home office setup.

Despite its tiny footprint, the GMKtec G5S offers a practical selection of ports for everyday use. The mini PC includes three USB 3.2 Type-A ports, one USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, Gigabit Ethernet, and HDMI 2.0. This gives users enough flexibility to connect accessories such as keyboards, mice, external drives, monitors, speakers, and wired internet.

Inside, the G5S is powered by the Intel Celeron N5095 processor, a low-power Jasper Lake chip built for basic computing tasks. While it is not intended for heavy gaming or demanding professional workloads, it should be suitable for web browsing, office work, media playback, online learning, and light productivity.

The processor is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The memory is not upgradeable, so buyers will need to be comfortable with the included capacity. For storage, GMKtec is offering two configurations: a 128GB model and a 256GB model. The mini PC also includes an M.2 slot that supports a 2242 SSD, allowing users to expand storage if they need more room for apps, files, and media.

GMKtec has also paid attention to cooling in the G5S. The company says the mini PC uses a copper heat pipe combined with a quiet fan to help manage temperatures. This cooling system is designed to let the Intel Celeron N5095 maintain a 10W performance level while keeping noise low, which is useful for bedrooms, offices, and shared workspaces.

Pricing is one of the biggest attractions of the GMKtec G5S. The 128GB version launched in China at CNY 1,149, which is approximately $169. The 256GB version launched at CNY 1,849, or about $272. For users looking for an affordable mini PC for daily tasks, digital signage, home entertainment, or a compact workstation, the G5S could be an appealing option.

GMKtec is expected to bring the G5S to international markets soon, where it may compete with other budget mini PCs aimed at users who value compact size, low power consumption, and essential desktop performance.
