GIGABYTE’s New EAGLE Laptop Quietly Lands With RTX 3050 and RTX 4050 Power

GIGABYTE has introduced a new budget-focused gaming laptop lineup, the EAGLE GL6J, aimed at users who want solid 1080p gaming performance without paying premium prices for the newest hardware. While the laptop itself is new, its internal components show a growing trend in the PC market: manufacturers are mixing current designs with older, more affordable processors and graphics chips to keep costs under control.

The EAGLE GL6J appears to be launching first through GIGABYTE’s Taiwan website, which suggests regional availability may be limited at the beginning. The laptop is listed in two versions, the EAGLE 9MJ and EAGLE 9LJ. Both models share most of the same core specifications, with the main difference being the graphics card.

Instead of using the latest high-end GPUs, GIGABYTE is offering the EAGLE GL6J with either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050. These are entry-level laptop graphics options, but they remain capable choices for gamers who mainly play at 1080p. With the right settings, both GPUs should handle popular esports titles and many modern games smoothly at medium graphics presets.

Each GPU configuration comes with 6 GB of GDDR6 video memory. The RTX 4050 has an advantage thanks to support for newer NVIDIA features, including DLSS 3 Frame Generation, which can help improve perceived smoothness in supported games. The RTX 3050, meanwhile, remains a lower-cost option for users who need basic ray tracing support and DLSS without stretching their budget.

Powering both versions of the GIGABYTE EAGLE GL6J is AMD’s Ryzen 5 7533HS processor. This chip is based on AMD’s Zen 3+ architecture and features 6 cores and 12 threads, with boost speeds of up to 4.4 GHz. While it is not AMD’s newest mobile CPU, it should still offer dependable performance for gaming, schoolwork, streaming, multitasking, and everyday productivity.

The laptop also offers practical upgrade potential. GIGABYTE lists support for up to 64 GB of system memory, which gives users room to expand beyond the standard configuration if they need more RAM for heavier workloads. Storage can also be expanded up to 4 TB, making the EAGLE GL6J more flexible for users with large game libraries, media files, or creative projects.

One of the more appealing features is the display. The GIGABYTE EAGLE GL6J uses an IPS panel with a 1920 x 1200 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz. The slightly taller 16:10 aspect ratio provides more vertical screen space than traditional 1080p panels, which can be useful for browsing, editing documents, coding, and multitasking. For gaming, the 165 Hz refresh rate should deliver a smoother experience when frame rates are high enough.

The decision to pair older hardware with a new laptop design reflects the current direction of the affordable gaming laptop market. Many brands are choosing previous-generation CPUs and GPUs to create lower-cost systems for students, casual gamers, and buyers who do not need flagship performance. For many users, a well-balanced RTX 3050 or RTX 4050 laptop can still offer plenty of value, especially when combined with a fast display and upgradeable memory and storage.

GIGABYTE has not yet announced official pricing or wider availability for the EAGLE GL6J. If the company prices it aggressively, the laptop could become an attractive option for budget-conscious gamers looking for a capable machine for 1080p gaming, school, and everyday use.
