Ubisoft is marking the 25th anniversary of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon with a major celebration for longtime fans, including free content, performance upgrades, free-play access, and huge discounts across the franchise.
The biggest surprise is a brand-new free DLC for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands called Last Rites. Available now for players who already own the game, the update adds fresh story missions, a new antagonist, and more reasons to return to the open-world tactical shooter. The DLC is available on both consoles and PC.
Last Rites gives Ghost Recon: Wildlands a new narrative chapter, expanding the game years after its original release. Alongside the story content, Ubisoft has added a variety of new items and customization options, including some gear that was previously limited to Mercenaries mode. Fans will also be pleased to see the return of the Predator mission, bringing back one of the game’s most memorable crossover challenges.
To make the anniversary celebration even more appealing, Ghost Recon: Wildlands is also free to play until August 10. This gives new players a chance to explore its massive open world, squad-based tactical gameplay, and cooperative missions without needing to purchase the game first.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is also getting attention during the anniversary event. While it is not receiving new story content, Ubisoft is rolling out a 4K 60 FPS upgrade for consoles, matching the visual and performance improvements coming to Wildlands. This upgrade should make both games feel smoother and more modern on current-generation hardware. Breakpoint is also available to play for free until August 10.
Ubisoft is also offering deep discounts across the Ghost Recon series, with franchise-wide deals reaching up to 95% off on supported platforms. In addition, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is available for free to keep, making this a strong opportunity for players to revisit one of the franchise’s most popular entries.
Although Ubisoft has not officially revealed the next Ghost Recon game, the company has confirmed that development is underway. A new Ghost Recon Insider Program has also been announced, allowing selected players to provide feedback and help shape the future of the series.
Current reports suggest the next Ghost Recon title may move in a more realistic first-person military simulation direction. The game is said to focus on a fictional conflict known as the “Naiman war” and may be built using Unreal Engine 5, though Ubisoft has not shared full details yet.
