Garmin is preparing to launch a fresh set of limited-edition Instinct 3 smartwatches, and they’re designed to stand out without changing what already works. Called the Instinct 3 Alpine Rush Collection, the lineup brings new colorways to Garmin’s rugged outdoor watch series while keeping the same adventure-ready feature set many buyers look for.
The Garmin Instinct 3 Alpine Rush Collection includes four models in total, split across two case sizes and two display styles. If you prefer solar charging and an always-on style screen, Garmin is offering the Instinct 3 Solar in a Sunburst case paired with a Sunburst/Gray band in both 45 mm and 50 mm sizes. If you want a brighter, punchier display, the AMOLED versions arrive in two new finishes: the Instinct 3 45 mm AMOLED in Citrine, and the Instinct 3 50 mm AMOLED in Fern Green.
Beyond the updated casing and strap colors, these limited editions appear to match the standard Instinct 3 models. That means buyers can still expect a tough build with a metal-reinforced bezel and a built-in LED flashlight, handy for early starts, late finishes, and unexpected low-light moments on the trail or at camp.
As you’d expect from Garmin’s outdoor-focused lineup, the watches include multi-band GPS for improved positioning, along with health and fitness tracking metrics. They also support smart notifications when paired with a phone and include contactless payments for more convenient checkouts on the go.
Battery life remains a key selling point. Garmin estimates up to 24 days of battery life with typical use on the AMOLED models. Meanwhile, the Solar versions use a MIP LCD display and integrated solar cells, with claims of unlimited runtime under the right conditions—an especially appealing perk for hikers, travelers, and anyone who’d rather not pack yet another charger.
