Garmin has unleashed a fresh update for its Forerunner smartwatch series, focusing on crucial bug fixes that enhance the heart rate zone functionality. This update, now accessible globally under Garmin’s Beta Program, promises to upgrade the user experience across all supported models.
The recent update, swiftly following Software Version 22.12, is designed to tackle several stumbling blocks that had lingered in previous versions. Software Version 22.12 itself had delivered bug fixes and introduced improvements to features like the Run Coach and Cycling Coach, providing a more refined fitness tracking experience.
The new version, v22.14, although currently limited to those participating in the Beta Program, holds promise for a swift upgrade to stable status, mirroring the rapid transition of its predecessor. This update touches five prominent models—Forerunner 165, 255, 265, 955, and 965—bringing in two pivotal bug resolutions aimed at stabilizing heart rate zone analytics. Users can now anticipate a smoother experience when adjusting HR zones and can rest assured that issues leading to incorrect time displays or heart rate zone inaccuracies are being addressed.
Additionally, the update rolls out specific fixes for the Forerunner 265 and 965, targeting problems where app icons would occasionally vanish from the notification glance. It’s worth noting, however, that this particular fix does not extend to the Forerunner 255, 955, or the newer Forerunner 165.
Alongside these specific corrections, Garmin promises a range of “various bug fixes and improvements” that will streamline and bolster the smartwatch’s performance, though detailed descriptions of these enhancements remain unspecified.
As Garmin continues to polish its Forerunner lineup, users can look forward to a more reliable and feature-rich experience, enhancing their fitness journeys with precision and convenience.
