Samsung is widely expected to introduce its next wave of foldable phones in July, and the leak cycle is already in full swing. Even with tighter controls, details about the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip models continue to surface. The latest leak offers an early look at what the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could look like, using CAD-style renders based on rumored dimensions. If you were hoping for a dramatic redesign, these early images suggest Samsung is sticking closely to the formula this year.
According to the leaked dimensions, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is said to measure around 158.4 x 143.2 x 4.5 mm when unfolded, and 158.4 x 72.8 x 9 mm when folded. Interestingly, that would make it slightly thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in this particular report. The rest of the measurements appear basically unchanged, which points to a similar overall footprint and likely the same screen sizes as last year. In other words, Samsung may be prioritizing refinement over reinvention for its 2026 Fold.
Visually, the rumored design looks familiar. The renders show a centered hole-punch camera on the display for selfies, while the back keeps Samsung’s recognizable triple-camera layout arranged vertically. For long-time Fold users, that’s both good and bad news: it suggests a proven design, but also indicates there may not be many obvious external updates at a glance.
One area where changes could matter more is durability. New rumors claim Samsung could introduce an upgraded folding screen structure aimed at improved long-term toughness. The report references a “dual-layer” Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) setup, paired with a laser-drilled metal support plate. If accurate, this could help address one of the biggest concerns for foldable buyers: how well the inner display holds up after months or years of folds, presses, and everyday use.
Battery and charging are also starting to come into focus. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is rumored to pack a 5,000 mAh battery, which would be a notable talking point for power users who want a large-screen phone that can comfortably last a full day. Charging may finally take a step forward too. With other recent Samsung devices pushing faster wired charging speeds, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Galaxy Z Fold 8 get a meaningful charging upgrade as part of this generation’s improvements.
Pricing is still uncertain, but one earlier report suggested a $1,999 price tag, keeping it in premium foldable territory. There’s also chatter about Samsung launching a more affordable alternative alongside the main model, potentially giving shoppers another entry point into the foldable lineup. However, the price and positioning of that cheaper model remain unclear for now.
As always with early CAD-based leaks, it’s worth keeping expectations in check. These renders are not official, and final hardware can change before launch. Still, if the leaked dimensions and design details hold true, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 may be less about a bold new look and more about subtle refinement—especially around durability, battery life, and charging, which are exactly the upgrades many foldable fans have been waiting for.
