The transition to MediaTek’s chip may be a financially motivated move for Samsung, as an earlier assessment indicated the high price tag of $200 for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This cost is presumably less competitive compared to what MediaTek can offer with its Dimensity 9300+.
Industry sources reveal that Samsung found higher value in MediaTek’s proposition. MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ emerges as a formidable alternative—it’s crafted using TSMC’s 4-nanometer process and boasts impressive performance and efficiency metrics. Moreover, the chip is compatible with cutting-edge technologies, including the newest LPDDR5T RAM and AI processing capabilities scaling up to 33 billion parameters.
