Shortly after the global launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, a select few users have reported an unsettling issue with the device’s display—the emergence of a green line on the screen that signifies a fault.
The green line display issue is unfortunately not a new problem for Samsung’s smartphone line. It first became well-known several years ago with the Galaxy S20 series and has since then plagued various models from different manufacturers including OnePlus and Realme. Now, it seems the issue has potentially surfaced again with Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Reddit user u/Ok_Marketing_6979 was an early victim of this problem, finding that after just six days of using the brand-new Galaxy S24 Ultra, a persistent green vertical line, accompanied by a white horizontal line appeared on the display. Neither rebooting the phone nor factory resetting it remedied the issue. Another report from Reddit user u/Independent-Bet-4916 mirrored the same experience with the appearance of a green line on the display of another new Galaxy S24 Ultra.
These cases have caused some concern among consumers, as securing a replacement or refund has been a challenge for these individuals who purchased the phones from carrier stores. While it remains to be seen if this issue will affect a larger number of Galaxy S24 Ultra units, the recurrence of this green line display issue in Samsung devices may affect consumer confidence in the brand.
At this point, it is uncertain whether this issue is an indicator of a larger problem or merely a rare manufacturing defect. For now, potential buyers might understandably be wary, but only time will tell if this issue will be widespread with the Galaxy S24 Ultra. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
