Samsung has been pioneering in integrating AI features within its devices, and now, the tech giant has detailed plans to expand its Galaxy AI capabilities to a range of older flagships.
Recently, the Galaxy S23 series was launched, boasting a wealth of AI features as part of Samsung’s “Galaxy AI” services suite, which have been pre-installed across the series, including the top-tier Galaxy S24 Ultra. Samsung has been vocal about its plans to roll out these AI features to other devices.
According to a recent confirmation provided to TechRadar, Samsung intends to bring the Galaxy AI feature set to its previous flagship models in the near future. The set includes the Galaxy Tab S9 series as well as both the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5. In an unexpected move, the Galaxy S23 FE joins the list, even though older models such as the Galaxy S22 series, which share a similar chipset with the Galaxy S23 FE in certain regions, have not been slated for the update.
As per available information, four key AI features are expected to be introduced to eligible legacy devices. These features include ‘Circle to Search’, ‘Live Translate’, ‘Note Assist’, and ‘Photo Assist’. Distribution of these features is anticipated to come through a future One UI 6.1 update. Interestingly, it appears ‘Chat Assist’ may not be part of the package leaving room for speculation on whether it might have been an oversight or a deliberate exclusion.
The timeline for the rollout of these updates has been set for the first half of the year, promising to extend the innovative AI functionality to a broader range of Samsung users.
With the AI features designed to enhance user experience across various Samsung devices, users can expect transformed capabilities in terms of search, translation, note-taking, and photography.
Stay tuned for more updates, as users eagerly await the arrival of these enhancements to elevate their Samsung Galaxy experience.
