Galaxy A53 Now Receiving February 2024 Security Update in European Regions

Samsung has started rolling out the latest security update for the Galaxy A53 in Europe, not long after it became available in the USA. Galaxy A53 users in European locations should see the February update become widely accessible promptly.

The update is identified by the firmware version A536BXXS8DXA1. The release focuses solely on enhancing security, with no additional features or performance enhancements mentioned.

According to the latest Samsung security bulletin, the February 2024 security patch rectifies a total of 72 vulnerabilities. Among these, 61 are issues that have been addressed by Google’s security fixes, while 11 are dedicated to Samsung’s proprietary fixes. Notably, there are three critical patches included in this update, while the remaining vulnerabilities are classified as moderate or high-risk.

Users can easily install the latest security update by navigating to the Settings app on their Galaxy A53, tapping on Software update, and then selecting Download and install. For those who prefer manual updating, firmware files are available for download and can be flashed onto devices using a Windows PC and a USB cable.

The Galaxy A53 is anticipated to receive the One UI 6.1 update in the future. Albeit, users may need to be patient for its rollout, as Samsung appears to be pacing the development of One UI 6.1 for its earlier-launched devices, such as the Galaxy A53. Unfortunately, this device is expected to be excluded from enjoying the AI features introduced with the Galaxy S series.
