GALAX, a well-known GPU manufacturer, recently announced the release of its upcoming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and 4070 SUPER graphics cards, which boast innovative blower-style cooling designs. These GPUs mark a deviation from the more common large, triple-slot, and triple-fan coolers often seen with high-performance graphics cards.
GALAX’s Unique Cooling Approach
The innovative design of the dual-slot GALAX GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and RTX 4070 SUPER graphics cards features an extended blower-style cooler, maximizing heat dissipation efficiency. These cards are designed with a large exhaust vent on the I/O plate, along with the standard configuration of three DisplayPorts and one HDMI output.
Sporting a sleek matte black color scheme, the cards are equipped with a large heatsink that covers the GPU, VRAM, and VRMs, ensuring excellent thermal management. Beneath the surface lies the VCU Turbine Cooling system, complete with copper fins to further enhance cooling performance.
Design and Specifications
Both the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and the RTX 4070 SUPER graphics cards feature shrouds that fully encase the PCB. Interestingly, the PCB flaunts a cut-out design allowing the fan to expel hot air efficiently out of the casing. These cards maintain the contemporary 12V-2×6-pin power connectors that are a hallmark of the SUPER series.
When it comes to core count, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER comes with 8448 cores, whereas the RTX 4070 SUPER is fitted with 7168 cores. Both GPUs retain the NVIDIA-recommended stock frequencies – 2610MHz for the 4070 Ti SUPER and 2475MHz for the 4070 SUPER.
The dimensions for the GALAX GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and 4070 SUPER Classic GPUs are consistent, measuring at 280x126x41mm. They boast TDPs (Thermal Design Power) of 285W and 220W respectively.
Pricing and Availability
GALAX has also extended its blower-style cooler design to the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti GPU, catering to users who prefer a more compact form factor. As for pricing, the GPUs are expected to be positioned close to the suggested retail prices of $599 for the 4070 SUPER and $799 for the 4070 Ti SUPER. However, it is important to note that the availability of these graphics cards is currently limited to the Asia Pacific region.
Enthusiasts and consumers alike who prefer the neatness of a blower-style GPU now have compelling options with the latest offerings from GALAX. As the industry evolves, such unique designs underscore the commitment to cater to a diverse range of preferences within the PC building community.
