Futuristic Design Concept: The Nothing Fold (1) with Illuminated Hinge and Triple Camera Setup

Imagine a world where Nothing, the innovative tech company helmed by Carl Pei, dives into the realm of foldable smartphones. While current leaks for their 2025 lineup make no mention of such a venture, that hasn’t stopped creative minds from envisioning the possibilities. Enter Sarang Sheth, an imaginative industrial designer, who has conceptualized what this leap could look like with his intriguing Nothing Fold (1) concept.

Sarang Sheth, known for his inventive tech-focused designs, has crafted an enticing vision for Nothing’s potential foray into foldables. Drawing inspiration from the Nothing Phone (2), he has incorporated unique enhancements into his design. The Nothing Fold (1) boasts a sleek 6.5-inch cover display housing a discreet punch-hole camera, while unfolding to reveal a generous 8.3-inch inner screen. These dimensions surpass the available Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, hinting at the potential to make a significant splash in the foldable market.

One of the standout features in Sheth’s design is the innovative hinge. He proposes two captivating possibilities: a functional display or an eye-catching light bar integrated into the hinge. These elements are not only aesthetically pleasing but also deeply functional, providing dynamic notification displays or an iconic glow.

The camera setup is another realm where the Nothing Fold (1) makes its mark. Breaking from Nothing’s traditional dual-camera approach, this concept includes three rear cameras, aligning with the company’s tech-forward ethos. Furthermore, the design incorporates the familiar Glyph Interface and embraces the intuitive Nothing OS.

The impressive specifications for this concept include a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor, a robust 16GB of RAM, and powerful 32MP front-facing cameras. Sheth’s vision is powered by a substantial 5,500mAh battery and offers the convenience of 15W Qi2 wireless charging.

Intriguingly, this bold vision carries a proposed price point of £799 (approximately $1018/€970), promising to deliver a compelling blend of high-tech features at a competitive rate.

Could this be a glimpse into the future of Nothing’s product lineup? While only time will tell if Carl Pei ventures into the foldables market, the Nothing Fold (1) concept fired up the imagination of what could be on the horizon, challenging the likes of Samsung with a unique design and an appealing feature set.
