Casio’s luxurious MRG-B2000JS-1AJR, a Japan-exclusive MR-G model, has discreetly transitioned into low stock status. Most listings in Japan are either sold out or marked as unavailable, signaling the end of its production, with only 800 pieces crafted globally.
This isn’t just any high-end G-Shock. Fashioned after the analog MRG-B2000 platform, the MRG-B2000JS-1AJR is heavily inspired by the art of Japanese sword-making. The design is particularly modeled after the “Jūmangokumaru–Yō,” a blade by renowned swordsmith Umetada Sadanobu. From its layered copper-titanium bezel to the intricate Yasurime texture, every detail embodies the essence of this katana.
Released with a price tag exceeding 1 million yen (~$6,912), it was the first MR-G timepiece to surpass that price point, raising eyebrows among collectors. However, its limited production and exquisite craftsmanship quickly won over enthusiasts.
Recent updates suggest that the watch is increasingly difficult to find. Official G-Shock outlets, specialty stores, and department counters are either not listing it anymore or marking it out of stock. Some still reference it, but it’s uncertain whether these are leftover units, display models, or simply archival pages.
