Epson Unveils the Lifestudio Flex EF-73: A Stylish New Special-Edition Projector for Big-Screen Viewing

Epson is expanding its portable home entertainment lineup with a new model designed to look as premium as it performs: the Lifestudio Flex Special Lux Edition EF-73. Arriving months after the Lifestudio Flex EF-71 and EF-72, this latest release targets anyone who wants a stylish projector for movies, sports, and gaming at home—without sacrificing everyday convenience.

What makes the Epson EF-73 stand out immediately is its special-edition build. Epson says it uses “premium” materials, highlighted by an anodised gold stand finished with a suede base. The projector body also gets tempered glass side panels, while the top panel features subtle gold flecks for a more upscale, living-room-friendly design. It keeps the integrated ambient LED lighting found on earlier models, but adds a practical upgrade that many users will appreciate: a wireless smartphone charger built into the base of the stand.

Beyond the new exterior and charging feature, the EF-73 appears to match the Epson EF-72 in core specs. It’s a 4K projector powered by Epson’s Triple Core Engine, combining 3LCD and RGB-LED technologies. Epson rates the light output at up to 1,000 lumens, and the projector can create an image up to 150 inches, making it a strong fit for everything from casual TV viewing to bigger movie nights.

Setup is designed to be fast and low-effort. The integrated stand lets you tilt and swivel the projection angle, and Epson’s Intelligent Instant Setup includes tools such as Auto Focus, Auto Keystone, and Auto Screen Fit—features that help you get a clean, properly sized image without a lengthy manual adjustment process.

For streaming, the EF-73 runs Google TV and supports popular apps including Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+. Gamers also get an ALLM mode and input lag under 20 ms, helping gameplay feel more responsive. Audio is handled by built-in Sound By Bose speakers with Dolby Audio support, aiming to deliver a fuller sound without requiring an external speaker setup.

Connectivity is modern and flexible, with Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi‑Fi 6 on board. Physical ports include HDMI with ARC/eARC support, USB-A, and a 3.5 mm audio jack, giving you multiple options for hooking up devices or audio equipment.

Release timing is set for Europe in April 2026. The Epson Lifestudio Flex Special Lux Edition EF-73 is already on sale in markets such as Hong Kong and Japan, while details about a North American launch have not been confirmed yet.
