Epic Games Store Reveals Two Free Games Coming on August 27
The Epic Games Store has confirmed its next free game giveaway, and players will soon be able to claim two very different titles at no cost. Starting August 27, Breathedge and Rival Stars Horse Racing will be available for free, replacing the current giveaway lineup.
For now, Epic Games Store users can still claim Cardpocalypse and the Epic Mage Bundle for Albion Online until August 27. Once that offer ends, the new free games will go live and remain available to claim until September 3. As usual, once added to your Epic Games Store library during the giveaway period, the games are yours to keep.
Breathedge is a space survival adventure with a strong comedic twist. The game places you in the role of a man transporting his grandfather’s ashes to a galactic funeral, only for the journey to go horribly wrong when his spaceship crashes. Stranded in deep space and surrounded by wreckage, coffins, debris, and plenty of strange surprises, you must uncover what happened while trying to stay alive.
Survival in Breathedge is anything but ordinary. Players must manage oxygen, avoid freezing, survive electrical hazards, and deal with other dangerous situations scattered throughout the wreckage. Exploration plays a major role as you collect resources, craft tools, build equipment, and create vehicles that allow you to travel farther into the remains of the destroyed ship.
One of the game’s most unusual companions is an immortal chicken, which adds to the title’s offbeat sense of humor. Beyond basic survival, players can also build and customize their own space station, adding systems such as oxygen, electricity, furniture, and useful equipment. For fans of survival games with crafting, exploration, and a strange sense of comedy, Breathedge offers a memorable sci-fi experience.
The second free title, Rival Stars Horse Racing, delivers a completely different kind of gameplay. Instead of surviving in space, players take charge of a struggling family ranch and work to restore it to greatness. The game combines horse racing, stable management, breeding, ranch upgrades, and a story-driven campaign centered around rebuilding a family legacy.
Rival Stars Horse Racing lets players raise and train horses, manage their stable, and compete in exciting races with realistic animations and commentary. In addition to traditional racing, the game also includes Cross Country jumping events and open environments where players can ride freely on horseback.
A major part of the experience is horse breeding and customization. Players can raise foals with different coat colors and patterns, use a genetics system to develop strong bloodlines, and create their ideal horse through the Horse Creator. The game also includes online multiplayer, giving players the chance to compete against others and show off their best horses.
With Breathedge offering a humorous space survival adventure and Rival Stars Horse Racing focusing on ranch life, horse breeding, and competitive racing, the next Epic Games Store free games lineup should appeal to a wide range of players.
Breathedge and Rival Stars Horse Racing will be free on the Epic Games Store from August 27 through September 3. Players who want the current free offers still have until August 27 to claim Cardpocalypse and the Epic Mage Bundle for Albion Online before the next giveaway begins.
