Epic Games Store is preparing another weekly free games drop, and this time horror fans have two very different experiences to look forward to. Starting October 22, players will be able to claim Home and Sker Ritual for free for a limited time.
The Epic Games Store continues its popular weekly giveaway program, letting PC players expand their game libraries without paying anything. As usual, once a free game is claimed during the promotion period, it stays in the user’s account permanently. Currently, players can still grab Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise and Bad Cheese at no cost, but the next lineup has already been confirmed.
Next week’s free Epic Games Store titles are Home and Sker Ritual, both offering horror-themed gameplay but with very different styles.
Home is a pixel-art horror adventure centered on mystery, atmosphere, and player interpretation. The game begins with your character waking up during a storm inside a dark and unfamiliar house. From there, you must explore the environment, uncover clues, and piece together the truth behind a murder mystery.
What makes Home stand out is its focus on choice and perspective. The story is shaped by how players interpret events, making the experience feel personal and unsettling. Instead of relying on intense action, Home leans into psychological tension, exploration, and storytelling, making it a strong pick for players who enjoy eerie indie horror games.
Sker Ritual, on the other hand, delivers a much more action-heavy horror experience. It is a round-based survival shooter that can be played solo or with up to four players online. Players must battle waves of supernatural enemies known as the Quiet Ones across multiple maps, with each round becoming more dangerous than the last.
The game continues from the dark ending of Maid of Sker and expands its horror world with co-op combat, powerful upgrades, boss fights, and hidden secrets. Players can collect Miracle powers to improve attacks, grenades, melee strikes, and healing abilities. Ultimate abilities provide extra firepower when enemy waves become overwhelming, while the SUPER CHARGE system allows weapons to be upgraded for tougher battles.
Sker Ritual also features Elite enemies, challenging bosses, optional objectives, Easter eggs, cosmetic unlocks, Dread Levels, and Sker Pass progression. For fans of cooperative shooters and wave-based survival games, it offers plenty of replay value.
Home and Sker Ritual will be free on the Epic Games Store from October 22 through October 29. Players will have one week to claim both games and add them permanently to their PC libraries.
With one game focused on slow-burning mystery and the other built around chaotic supernatural combat, the upcoming Epic Games Store free games lineup gives horror fans a solid reason to check in next week.
