Elecom Unveils Ist Plus Trackball Mice With Smooth New 5-Ball Roller Design

Elecom Unveils Ist Plus Trackball Mice With Swappable Rollers, Silent Clicks, and Multi-Device Bluetooth

Elecom has introduced its new Ist Plus trackball mouse lineup in Japan, targeting users who want smoother cursor control, quiet operation, and flexible connectivity across multiple devices. The series includes the M-IT10MRS models, which feature newly developed 5-ball rollers designed to reduce friction, as well as the M-IT11MRSBK models, which use standard linear rollers.

The standout feature of the Elecom Ist Plus series is its user-replaceable roller system. The 36 mm trackball and internal rollers can be swapped by the user, making maintenance easier and giving owners more control over how the mouse feels. Elecom also offers replacement roller options, including the 5-ball roller set and standard linear rollers, allowing users to customize the tracking experience based on preference.

Each Ist Plus trackball mouse comes with five programmable buttons, making it suitable for productivity, office work, browsing, and creative workflows. The buttons use silent switches, which should appeal to users who work in shared spaces, offices, libraries, or late-night home setups where click noise can be distracting.

Tracking resolution is adjustable from 100 DPI up to 4,000 DPI, giving users the ability to fine-tune pointer speed for different tasks. Lower DPI settings can help with precise movement, while higher settings are useful for faster navigation across large displays or multi-monitor setups.

Connectivity is another major focus of the Ist Plus series. When connected through USB-A, the mice support Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS computers. With Bluetooth, compatibility expands to Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, ChromeOS, and Android devices.

The mice can pair with up to three devices simultaneously via Bluetooth, making it easy to switch between a laptop, tablet, and desktop without constantly reconnecting. For users who prefer a 2.4 GHz wireless connection, Elecom also supports pairing through its optional Bridge E USB receiver.

The optional receiver is aimed at corporate and security-conscious environments. It supports Bluetooth LE Security Level 4 with data encryption, helping protect wireless communication and reduce the risk of data theft.

In Japan, the Elecom Ist Plus models are available in black or white. Pricing starts at 8,380 yen, which is approximately $55, while the higher-priced model is listed at 10,980 yen, or about $70.

Pre-orders begin on May 26, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. JST and continue until June 14 at 11:59 p.m. JST. Shipments are expected to start in late June.

With its silent switches, swappable rollers, multi-device Bluetooth support, and adjustable DPI, the Elecom Ist Plus trackball mouse series looks like a practical option for users who want a customizable ergonomic mouse for work, study, and everyday computing.
